The ASEAN Regional Centre for Biodiversity Conservation (ARCBC) serves as the central focus for networking and institutional linkage among ASEAN Member Countries (AMCs) and between ASEAN and European Union (EU) partner organizations to enhance the capacity of ASEAN in promoting biodiversity conservation

The Regional Community Forestry Training Center for Asia and the Pacific (RECOFTC) is an international organization which works in close collaboration with partner organizations to actively support community forestry development in the region.  As a learning organization, RECOFTC designs and facilitates learning processes and systems that support the capacity development of commuity forestry institutions and organizations. RECOFTC seeks to constructively promote dialogue between multi-stakeholders to ensure equitable management of forest resources.  Good Links

The Conservation Finance Alliance (CFA) was created to catalyze increased and sustainable public and private financing for biodiversity conservation to support the effective implementation of global commitments to conservation.

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) aims to advance biodiversity conservation projects in critical ecosystems that harbor the richest variety of life.

GreenCOM is the Environmental Education and Communication Project of the U.S. Agency for International Development. The project's objective is to use communication strategies to promote environmentally sustainable development. We provide environmental education and communication (EE&C) expertise to USAID projects dealing with biodiversity conservation, water resource management, environmental policy, public participation, and urban problems such as solid waste management and recycling.

South and Southeast Asia Network for Environmental Education: SASEANEE's a network of agencies and individuals involved in or interested in networking, initiating, or supporting environmental education programmes in the region.

FOUNDATIONS OF SUCCESS helps conservation practitioners use adaptive management. Adaptive management incorporates research into conservation action. Specifically, it is the integration of design, management, and monitoring to systematically test assumptions in order to be able to adapt and learn.

The Directory of Development Organizations 2003 is a compilation of contact data of the main sources of assistance available for private sector development (micro, small an medium-sized enterprises) and poverty reduction. A wide range of organizations is included in the Directory: international organizations, government ministries, private sector institutions, development agencies, universities, research and training institutes, NGOs/PDOs, grantmakers, banks, microfinance institutions, and development consulting firms. These organizations promote both private sector development and poverty alleviation, through: the financial sector and microfinance, trade and business development services, rural development and appropriate technology, small enterprise development and policy reforms, community development and social protection, gender and participation, environment and health, research, training and education.

The Pacific Institute for Studies in Development, Environment, and Security is an independent, non-profit center created in 1987 to conduct research and policy analysis in the areas of environment, sustainable development, and international security.  Underlying all of the Institute's work is the recognition that the pressing problems of environmental degradation, regional and global poverty, and political tension and conflict are fundamentally interrelated, and that long-term solutions require an interdisciplinary perspective.

Pacific Environment protects the living environment of the Pacific Rim by strengthening democracy, supporting grassroots activism, empowering communities, and redefining international policies.

Ecology and Society (formerly Conservation Ecology) is an electronic, peer-reviewed, multi-disciplinary journal devoted to the rapid dissemination of current research. The journal seeks papers that are novel, integrative and written in a way that is accessible to a wide audience that includes an array of disciplines from the natural sciences, social sciences, and the humanities concerned with the relationship between society and the life-supporting ecosystems on which human wellbeing ultimately depends.

Directory of Development Organizations 2002 The Directory of Development Organizations lists 25,000 contacts of organizations that offer "(non-) financial support, market access, information and advice to the enterprise and poverty-reducing sectors in low-income countries." Contact details include the organization's mail and street address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail and Web page address (if available). This Directory is intended to provide a comprehensive source of reference for development practitioners, researchers, donor employees, and policy makers who are interested in private sector development and poverty alleviation, particularly in low-income countries. For easier referencing, the Directory has been divided into 7 geographical sections: Africa, Asia and the Middle East, Central America and the Caribbean, Europe, Oceania, South America, and Canada and the USA. This site is easy to navigate and can be viewed in English, Spanish, or French.
